                    The NIST Generators project required the addition and replacement of emergency generators.  RMK installed 3 new 275KW emergency generators at building 12.  RMK also installed one 250KW emergency generator at building 1 wing 5.  RMK removed an existing generator and relocated it to a new building to provide emergency back up power to building 24.  This job included installation of new generators, ATS switches, concrete and asphalt removal, installation of new concrete and asphalt, painting, landscaping and safety bollards for the protection of the generators.

                    The Building 2 Lab 1105 project required RMK to add electrical and mechanical utilities to serve the new equipment requirements of Lab 2-1105.  A nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) was installed in this lab which had electrical and compressed air requirements.  A condensing unit located on the roof was connected and a protective structure was installed around it.  In addition a new fume hood was installed and connected to a new exhaust fan on the roof.

                    The Nist High Speed project required the installation of secondary wiring for bypass around the highspeed switch.  RMK subcontracted NPL to install all of the high voltage.  This installation required a weekend shutdown for the full Nist campus which is over 13 buildings for tie ins to new gear.  After installation RMK was able to bring power seamlessly back online.

                    This project includes a complete lighting renovation throughout the entire school replacing all existing light fixtures with programmable/dimmable energy efficient fixtures and occupancy sensors.  Through the lighting renovation the school was able to reduce energy costs significantly.  The school had specific hours when RMK was allowed onsite so as not to disrupt the students learning environment and to limit student interaction.  Work hours were limited to evenings and weekends, each room had to be restored to pre-work condition before class started the next day.   RMK acted as the general contractor for the entire project, performing all of the electrical work with our own forces as well as hiring and overseeing the other trades that were needed to accomplish the project.
